May - September Mangos have been grown in Florida since the early 1800's and worldwide for thousands of years. It is the most consumed fruit in the world. Peel skin and slice fruit away from seed. Mangos are eaten out of hand, in fruit salads, with ice cream, cooked with meats or baked in pies. STORAGE: Store at room temperature until ripe or flesh gives to gentle pressure. Ripe mangos have a mango scent. Once fully ripe, mangos can be kept refrigerated for up to 3 days. DISPLAY: Make a large mango display or arrange with other tropicals. NUTRITION: High in Vitamins A and C, potassium and fiber and low in sodium. |
