Guavas are light yellow-green with a sweet pungent fragrance and white to pinkish-red flesh. Ripe guava is soft to the touch and juicest at its center. Guavas are eaten out of hand with seeds removed and often served sliced with other fruits or pureed for use in desserts and beverages. Guava juice puts the punch in Hawaiian punch.
STORAGE: Guava ripens quickly and is best used within 2 days of reaching full ripeness.
DISPLAY: Feature guavas with other tropical fruits.
NUTRITION: Low in sodium, high in potassium and good source of Vitamins A and C.
